We are Northern Indiana DSA, a socialist organization working in Elkhart, Kosciusko, Marshall, and St. Joseph counties. Join us and together we can make the world a better place for workers, and for the poor and oppressed.
In January, we kicked off the month with a rally originally planned in response to increasing U.S. aggression towards Venezuela, but rebranded to be a response to recent increased U.S. imperialism broadly. Members and allies gathered at Jon Hunt plaza to protest the recent bombings or bomb threats directed by our government towards locations in Venezuela, Nigeria, Iran, and Palestine. The Renegade Queer Crafting series on quilting also kicked off officially, meeting weekly on Thursday evenings at The Well. These meetings will continue through mid-February. The weekend of the 17th, we had our General Body Meeting on Saturday, and Movie Night on Sunday, which featured “At the River I Stand: The Climax of the Civil Rights Movement”. During the latter half of the month, members were busy organizing a solemn call to action meeting in response to the murder of Alex Pretti by ICE, to be held on February 1st. Ongoing committee meetings are occurring regularly as well, with some meeting as often as every week. Contact us today to see how you can get involved!
